I created this timeline using Hstry, whose mission is to "captivate students." This website uses interactive timelines as a way to engage and teach students in a unique way. There are many features for both students and teachers, allowing them to create, interact with others, and share their work to many different places.
My favorite thing about the website was the level of customization that was available to users. The streamlined approach to delivering information makes both creating and learning engaging. The multiple options of adding information and assessment show that learning doesn't have to be boring. Whether you want to add a video, a forum, or your own mini quiz, the students will be excited to keep scrolling down the timeline.
In my future classroom, I will use this website to spice up my assessment style and show my students that self-paced learning is encouraged. This will give both my students and I a break from traditional lecturing in the classroom. In my English classroom, I will feature timelines on different authors and periods of literature to make a subject that is commonly considered boring and forgotten about after being tested on it more exciting and impactful to my students.
